If You Need Help, Ask for It

The Foundation awards scholarships to men entering Jaywalker who cannot afford the full cost of treatment. If that is you, or it is someone you love, the next step is simple. Get in touch.

Who is Eligible

  • Adult men (18 or older) seeking admission to Jaywalker Lodge.
  • Demonstrated financial need. Most scholarship recipients have exhausted insurance benefits, personal savings, and family resources, and still face a gap between what they can pay and what treatment costs.
  • Clinical fit. The Jaywalker admissions and clinical team determines whether a man is appropriate for the program. The Foundation does not make clinical decisions.
  • Willingness to engage. Scholarships are not a free pass. They fund men who are ready to do the work.

What Scholarships Cover

Scholarships are partial. They are designed to close the gap between what a man and his family can pay and what treatment costs, not to fund treatment in full. The Foundation works alongside Jaywalker’s financial team to assemble a workable plan that may include insurance, family contribution, and a scholarship.

Scholarships can be applied to any phase of Jaywalker care: primary residential treatment, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, sober living, or independent living.

Step 1

Start with Admissions

Call Jaywalker Lodge admissions at (866) 445-1269. The admissions team will walk you through clinical fit, insurance verification, and what treatment would cost based on your specific situation. This conversation is confidential, and there is no obligation.

Step 2

Ask About Foundation Support

If, after that conversation, there is still a financial gap, tell the admissions team. They will refer you to the Foundation.

Step 3

Complete the Scholarship Application

The Foundation will send you a short, confidential application. It asks about household income, dependents, assets, insurance coverage, prior treatment history, and the financial gap you are facing. We do not ask for tax returns at this stage. We ask the questions we need to ask, and no more.

Step 4

Decision

The Foundation’s scholarship committee reviews applications on a rolling basis. We aim to make decisions within five business days. We will tell you yes or no, and if yes, how much.

What We Ask of Recipients

  • Engage with treatment in good faith.
  • Stay in contact. Recipients are asked to check in with the Foundation periodically during and after treatment, briefly, and only as much as they want to.
  • When you are able to, give back. Some of our most generous donors are former scholarship recipients. There is no obligation. There is an open door.

Confidentiality

Everything about a scholarship application is confidential. We do not share the names or details of recipients with donors. We do not share them with anyone outside the Foundation’s scholarship committee and Jaywalker’s admissions and clinical team, and we do not share them with anyone, ever, without written consent.
